Registered Nurse / Pre Op Registered Nurses

Job Summary:
Preoperative Registered Nurse (RN) position in a hospital setting located in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This role involves preparing surgical patients for their procedures, providing phase 2 recovery, and ensuring patient safety and comfort during preoperative and postoperative phases. The position offers a flexible shift schedule starting in October 2026 and ending in January 2027, with an emphasis on team collaboration and patient care excellence.

Job Details:

• Location: Chattanooga, TN
• Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting at 5:30 AM or as per surgery schedule, with rotating closing shifts until last patient leaves, typically until 7:00 PM
• Required Qualifications: Valid licensure as a Registered Nurse, American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, experience with IV starts, moderate sedation, and preparing surgical patients for surgery and Phase 2 recovery
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with procedures such as nerve blocks, arterial lines, central lines, and Swan Ganz catheter insertions
• Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Floats: Float: Float rotation may be required, limited to working within the Day Surgery and Preoperative holding units
• Additional Information: The unit features cardiac monitors, ultrasound, EKG machines, and uses the Meditech documentation system. The environment emphasizes team collaboration, modern equipment, and patient-centered care. No weekends or holidays are scheduled, promoting a work-life balance.
