Registered Nurse / Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) nurse position located in a healthcare facility. This role involves providing specialized care for newborns requiring intensive medical attention. The incumbent will work closely within a family-centered environment, supporting breastfeeding practices, and utilizing advanced neonatal procedures. The position offers an opportunity to work with a dedicated team committed to supporting newborn and family health.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Certifications in neonatal care, appropriate education, and training; valid licensure, ability to perform IV skills; experience or knowledge in ventilator care and central line management (UACs, UVCs, PICC, midlines); strong teaching skills for parents
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience working within a family-centered NICU environment; proficiency in chest tube maintenance and neonatal emergency procedures
  • Float: Float rotation may be required
  • Additional Information: Unit specific procedures include infusions, phlebotomy, starting IVs, performing EKGs, patient transports, weaning protocols, nebulizer use, and discontinuing sheaths. The team adopts a supportive, team-based approach to neonatal care, and the unit is working towards Baby Friendly designation, emphasizing breastfeeding support and parental participation.
