Registered Nurse / Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Job Summary:
A Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse is sought for a site located in an unspecified area. This position involves providing specialized nursing care for newborns in a family-centered environment, with a focus on breastfeeding support, ventilator management, and central line care. The role requires a team-oriented approach to ensure the highest quality of care in a supportive setting.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Certification in neonatal or pediatric nursing, current licensure in the state, proficiency in IV skills, maintenance of IV fluids, strong knowledge of ventilator care, and familiarity with central lines such as UACs, UVCs, PICC, and midlines. No minimum experience required, but at least 1 year preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in neonatal intensive care, strong teaching skills for parents, and knowledge of chest tube maintenance and care.
• Additional Information: The unit emphasizes family-centered care, encourages parental participation, and is on its journey to Baby-Friendly designation to promote breastfeeding practices. The team fosters a supportive, collaborative environment utilizing a team approach to enhance patient outcomes.
