Registered Nurse / Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Job Summary:
A Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse position is available in a healthcare organization located in a family-centered care environment. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to neonatal patients, following unit-specific procedures and protocols such as IV skills, ventilator care, and central line management. The NICU team promotes parental participation and breastfeeding practices, working collaboratively to ensure the best outcomes for infants.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, proficiency in IV skills and maintaining IV fluids, experience with ventilator care, central line management (including UACs, UVCs, PICC, and midlines), strong teaching skills for parents, and a background in neonatal or pediatric nursing.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a neonatal intensive care environment, certifications such as Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Additional Information: Unit-specific procedures include infusions, phlebotomy, starting IVs, performing EKGs, patient transport, weaning, nebulizer to inhaler, and chest tube maintenance. The unit encourages a team approach with strong support for new staff.
