Registered Nurse / Step Down Unit

Job Description

Job Summary:
Step Down Unit Registered Nurse (RN) position in an acute care setting. This role involves providing specialized patient care on a step-down or telemety unit with a focus on inpatient recovery and stabilization. The travel assignment is suitable for RNs with experience in progressive care or medical-surgical telemetry, requiring flexibility to float within skill sets or to nearby sites within a 40-mile radius.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, Nursys license verification, drivers license or state ID, professional profile, two professional references, and an up-to-date resume. Experience in step-down units or telemetry (minimum 2 years preferred), completed specialty exam in RN Step Down (PCU), proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system, and travel experience. Credentialing for progressive care or medical-surgical telemetry required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Previous travel nursing experience, certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and additional clinical certifications.
  • Additional Information: The assignment duration is from 09/13/2026 to 12/12/2026, with responsibilities including patient monitoring, administering medications, and coordinating patient care in a fast-paced acute care environment. The RN must be adaptable to float practices within their skill set and to nearby facilities if needed.
