Registered Nurse / Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular

Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU OH) registered nurse (RN) position is based in a busy cardiac intensive care unit. The role involves delivering high-quality, evidence-based direct patient care to a complex cardiac patient population, including those recovering from high-risk cardiac surgery and advanced heart failure cases. The RN will implement and monitor individualized care plans, administer physician and nursing orders, and lead discharge planning efforts in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

Job Details:

  • Location: The position is located at a facility with a cardiac ICU that has 28 beds, where navy scrubs are worn.
  • Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BSN or diploma with RN licensure, current license verification, and at least 1 year of clinical experience in critical care nursing.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing cardiac advanced device therapy including IABP, Impella, and Swan-Ganz management, with background in cardiac surgery recovery, heart transplants, LVAD implants, ECMO, Impella, IABP, CRRT, and CCO monitoring.
  • Additional Information: Candidates should be familiar with electronic medical record systems including Cerner and COMPASS. The unit primarily cares for patients involved in high-risk cardiac surgeries and advanced heart failure interventions. Successful candidates must be able to float as needed to MICU, SICU, or medical or cardiac step-down units.
