Registered Nurse / Step Down Unit

Job Summary:
Step Down Unit registered nurse in a hospital setting, specializing in care for patients post-surgical procedures and with telemetry monitoring experience. This role involves providing specialized patient care for a diverse surgical patient population, including post-open heart, heart transplant, LVAD, leg bypass, rib resections, and pneumonectomy cases. The position offers a rewarding opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, with contracts available for September start dates.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shift hours, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, Nursys license verification, professional profile, professional references, and successful completion of Ascension skills checklist
• Preferred Qualifications: Extensive experience with surgical patient populations and telemetry monitoring
• Float: Float rotation may be required
• Additional Information: The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to complex surgical patients, following facility protocols and standards, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The assignment duration is from 10/04/2026 to 01/02/2027, with potential for longer contracts for qualified professionals.
