Job Description

Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse position available in a critical access healthcare facility. The role involves triaging, labor and delivery care, postpartum management, and newborn care within a small hospital setting. This position requires seasoned professionals capable of providing comprehensive obstetric services, including handling neonatal care, utilizing Epic electronic charting system, and performing various obstetrical procedures. The assignment spans from November 16, 2026, to February 15, 2027, with a 12-hour night shift schedule.

Job Details:

  • Shift Schedule: Nights, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid state license, at least 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery, certifications in BLS, NRP, and CLC* (if applicable), experience with Epic charting system, and demonstrated competency in labor triage, sterile vaginal exams, postpartum, and newborn care
  • Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience working in a community hospital environment, familiarity with wireless fetal monitoring, and PPH management equipment (e.g., JADA device)
  • Float: Just to help out with skills when no patients on labor and delivery, answer phones, IV starts, no patient assignments in other areas
  • On-call and Weekend Requirements: Max once per pay period with 30-minute callback; weekends are equally split amongst staff, with the expectation to work at least one holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years) during the assignment
  • Additional Information: Seeks experienced travelers only; the position includes coverage for neonatal patients and interdisciplinary support services such as radiology, respiratory, and pharmacy. The hospital uses Epic for charting, and wireless fetal monitoring is employed. Candidate must be prepared to work holidays as scheduled in pairs and adhere to specific scheduling and RTO policies.
