Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Floor

Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor Registered Nurse (RN) position located in Salem, Virginia. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to post-operative orthopedic, spine, and podiatry patients, supporting patient recovery and safety on a busy 30-bed unit with the potential to increase capacity. The position requires a dedicated professional committed to teamwork, excellent communication, and patient advocacy.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 10/12/2026 and ending on 01/11/2027
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), a minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, and location within the specified area
• Preferred Qualifications: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification and experience caring for pediatric patients, familiarity with post-operative orthopedic care
• Floats: Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: Unit utilizes Baxter IV pumps, Medfusion pumps, and Sequential Compression Devices (SCDs). The electronic medical record system in use is Meditech. Candidates should demonstrate strong teamwork, positive attitude, and excellent communication skills to succeed in this unit.
