Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse position available in a healthcare facility located in Carlsbad. This role involves providing high-level patient care in a busy ICU setting, with the ability to float to Emergency Room and Medical-Surgical departments as needed. The position is suitable for experienced ICU nurses seeking a 13-week assignment starting from September 21, 2026.
Job Details
- Schedule: Days shift, 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid certifications including BLS and ACLS, 2+ years of ICU experience, experience with ventilators, titratable drips, medication mixing, and patient hygiene. Additional preferred qualifications include ER and Medical-Surgical experience, TNCC certification, and experience with patient transportation and bedside procedures.
- Preferred Qualifications: ER & Med Surg experience, TNCC certification, experience with vents, titratable drips, medications, patient hygiene.
- Additional Information: The role involves ICU patient total care including ventilator management, titratable drips, and hygiene. No call is required. The facility uses MedHost EMR. Fingerprints for all travelers are required, and candidates must be registered with the state of New Mexico for the fingerprinting process. Floating to ER and Med Surgical departments may be required, with a float log maintained. The unit has 12 beds, and the patient ratio is 1:2-3. The role may include working holidays, and scrubs can be any color.
