Registered Nurse / Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular

Job Summary:
The ICU Cardiovascular (ICU CVICU) Nurse position is based in a facility within the intensive care unit specialized for cardiovascular patient care. Located in an environment dedicated to adult and geriatric populations, this role involves providing advanced cardiac care to critically ill patients. The position offers night shifts with a focus on complex cardiovascular conditions, including cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest, heart failure, and rhythm disturbances, requiring highly skilled and adaptable nursing practitioners.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 3x12 Night shifts (19:00-07:30), minimum 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Active Maryland or Compact State RN license, BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIHSS certifications; 2 years of relevant ICU cardiovascular experience preferred; applicants must have or be able to obtain certifications prior to start
• Preferred Qualifications: CCRN certification and previous experience in trauma or community hospital settings are desirable
• Float: Float within the specialized units, including lower acuity areas, as needed
• Additional Information: The role involves bedside central line insertions, bronchoscopy, chest tube management, Swan/PA cath insertion, targeted temperature management, and CRRT. The candidate will operate equipment such as Impella, VAD, IABP, CRRT, ventilators, cooling devices, and CCO monitors. The patient population primarily consists of adult and geriatric patients with cardiovascular emergencies. Comprehensive interdisciplinary support is available including respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and social services.
