Job Description

Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse in a hospital setting. This position involves delivering high-quality patient care through the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of maternal and neonatal patients. The role requires administering medications, monitoring responses, guiding ancillary staff, and maintaining accurate documentation. The nurse will serve as a resource, participate in quality improvement activities, and ensure safety and confidentiality in all aspects of care.

Job Details:

  • Shift Schedule: Rotating, with a shift duration of 12 hours.
  • Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours.
  • Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required; Successful passage of Pharmacology exam; Documented attendance at Fetal Monitor Course every 2 years (Intermediate or Advanced); Current certification in American Academy of Pediatric Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP); Recent Obstetric (OB) experience within 2 years required; Must read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Labor and Delivery (L&D) or related specialty.
  • Additional Information: The candidate will care for maternal and neonatal patients, utilizing proper safety protocols, documenting assessments and care plans, and demonstrating proficiency in nursing informatics. The role includes patient education, teamwork, and adherence to hospital policies.
