Job Description

Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse in Austin, TX. This contract position involves working in a busy surgical unit with a focus on a variety of procedures including spine, neuro, cardiac, and general surgeries. The role requires collaboration with a dedicated team to ensure high-quality patient care during 12-hour day shifts.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, from 10/05/2026 to 01/04/2027
  • Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, certification in Surgical Technology (CST) with neuro/spine experience, cardiac experience for service line, 4 years of experience, located in or willing to work in Austin, TX
  • Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with experience across multiple service lines including ortho, neuro, general, and robotic surgeries are preferred; flexible, team-oriented, self-directed, positive personality; scrubs provided and non-slip closed toe and heeled shoes required during shifts
  • Additional Information: The unit features robotics, Cardiac, Vascular, Neuro, Spine, Oncology, Orthopedics, Plastics, Urology, and Gynecology procedures. Typical procedures include appendectomies, cholecystectomies, spine fusions, total joint replacements, craniotomies, mastectomies, and DIEP flaps. The team maintains a low turnover rate, with a strong focus on teamwork and technological advancements.
