Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Nurse (MS) This position is located in a large, 47-bed acute care unit specializing in Medical Surgical (MS) and Surgical Oncology patients. The role involves collaborating with an inter-professional team, practicing within the full scope of nursing expertise, and utilizing electronic medical records and monitoring equipment. The assignment features 12-hour shifts on an every-other-weekend schedule.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, every other weekend and holiday, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: A minimum of 2 years recent Medical Surgical experience working in a hospital with at least 200 beds, preferably with Surgical Oncology experience, and Level 2 or higher trauma center experience. Must hold an Active American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Must possess an active North Dakota or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license. Epic electronic medical records experience is required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with surgical oncology patients is preferred but not required.
  • Additional Information: Must badge in and out at the facility, wear navy blue scrubs, and have an initial one-day lead center training followed by two 12-hour shifts with a preceptor. The unit is a Level 1 Trauma setting, and travel experience is required unless the candidate has multiple years of experience at a large Level 1 trauma hospital.
  • Float: Float to other med/surg units or departments may be required.
  • Position Dates: Start date is 10/12/2026; end date is 01/11/2027.
  • License to Submit: Yes
