Job Summary:
A registered nurse specialized in operating room (OR) procedures is sought for a 13-week assignment at a healthcare organization. The position involves providing comprehensive perioperative care in a busy surgical environment, primarily focusing on orthopedic, transplant, general surgery, robotics, trauma, urology, and PBS cases. The role requires flexibility with shift hours and working on holidays and weekends as scheduled.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour day shift from 07:00 AM to 07:30 PM, totaling 36 hours per week with variable days; holidays and weekends required; block scheduling on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Florida RN license or compact license, at least 3 years of recent OR RN experience, including within the last 12 months at an academic medical institution or a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma facility in a major metropolitan area. Prior travel experience necessary; no candidates with a 180+ day non-clinical employment gap; and no unexplained work history gaps over 30 days. Recent experience with electronic medical records (EPIC) is required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with scrub procedures is advantageous but not required; emphasis on orthopedic and general surgery experience.
- Certifications & Licensure: Basic Life Support (BLS) mandatory; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Additional Information: All new RN starters must pass specialty and EKG exams with a minimum score of 80% and correctly identify lethal rhythms. Review of rhythm interpretation is recommended prior to start date.
- Submission Requirements: Include facility type, electronic medical records (EMR), bed count, and at least one reference from within the past 12 months.
- Testing Requirements: Candidates must pass above assessments; failure requires remedial training beyond orientation.
- Interview Process: Unit manager interviews are mandatory for selection.
