Job Summary
Step Down Unit RN Night Shift with a healthcare provider in a medical-surgical setting. Located in a rapidly developing step down and medical-surgical unit, this position involves managing a diverse patient population with a focus on patients requiring specialized titration and monitoring. The role requires strong clinical skills and the ability to adapt to a dynamic healthcare environment.

Job Details

  • Location: Not specified.
  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with every other weekend required.
  • Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure, BLS (AHA) certification, minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a similar setting, EPIC electronic medical record system experience, and ability to handle a patient load of 6 medical-surgical patients or 3 step-down patients.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a step down or med-surg unit, familiarity with titration of drips such as Heparin, insulin, anti-hypertensives, antiarrhythmics, phenobarbital, ketamine, PCA medications, and TPN. Certified in ACLS is preferred.
  • Responsibilities: Provide patient care on a 29-bed unit currently under construction, with established nurse-patient ratios of 3:1 for step down and 6:1 for floor. Manage titratable drips with orders written accordingly. Utilize Phillips telemetry monitoring equipment and coordinate with remote telemetry surveillance. Assist in patient assessments, medication administration, and documentation using EPIC.
  • Float/Additional Requirements: First to float or be reassigned to other floors or units as needed. Must be flexible with scheduling and adapt to unit needs.
