Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Floor

Job Summary:
Medical Surgical (MS) Nurse in an acute care setting working on a Night shift. This position involves caring for orthopedic patients, including joints, replacements, and fractures, with a focus on post-operative care. The role requires strong orthopedic experience and the ability to work rotating weekends and holidays as part of a 36-hour weekly schedule, beginning September 28, 2026, and ending December 28, 2026.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, rotating weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice, BLS certification, minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical-surgical environment, orthopedic experience including joint replacements and fractures, ability to work nights, and willingness to wait for licensure submission approval.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with orthopedic surgery and joint replacements.
• Float: Float rotation may be required to various units, including 7 East, 7 West, 10 West, and 10 East.
• Additional Information:
  • Must have total joint replacement experience and not just fractures.
  • Unit has 22 beds with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5-6 for general care and 1:7-8 for CNAs.
  • RN`s are not required to titrate drips or read strips.
  • Charge nurse and house supervisor are available 24/7.
  • CNAs work three per shift.
  • Equipment such as CPAP, BiPAP, and High Flow as needed.
  • Scrub color is royal blue.
  • Charting system utilized is EPIC.
  • COVID-19 vaccination required with possible medical or religious exemptions to be processed.
