Registered Nurse / Intensive Care Unit

Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) specialization in Asheville, North Carolina. This position involves providing advanced critical care to neurologically complex patients, including post-thrombectomy, TPA, and neurosurgery cases. The role requires a skilled health care professional capable of handling specialized procedures and patient monitoring in a fast-paced ICU environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours shift times, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications, ICU experience with a minimum of 2 years of experience, and residency or work authorization within the location.
• Preferred Qualifications: Neurology post thrombectomy and TPA patient care experience, post-neurosurgery patient management, familiarity with bedside EVD (External Ventricular Drain), CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy), and A-line monitoring.
• Additional Information: The ICU has 12 beds, with a patient ratio of 1:2. The unit utilizes Cerner documentation systems and Baxter pumps. Staffing is self-scheduled, with a policy that travelers will float first to other ICU units or step-down units. Neurology experienced ICU nurses are preferred. The unit emphasizes patient-centered care with specialized procedures and equipment.
