Registered Nurse / Operating Room Open Heart

Job Summary:
Operating Room Open Heart (OR OH) registered nurse position available in Appleton, WI. This role involves providing specialized cardiovascular surgery nursing care in a dynamic hospital environment. The position requires flexibility with variable start times and the ability to work a rotating schedule, including some holidays and weekends.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 8-hour variable day shifts with start times at 6:15 a.m., 9:00 a.m., and 11:30 a.m.; guaranteed 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license, American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). A minimum of 3 years of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience is required. Candidates must have recent EPIC charting experience within the last 2 years.
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous travel experience is strongly preferred. Candidates coming from a facility or their home location within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible.
• Additional Information: The nurse will circulate Open Heart, Vascular, and general cases, including robotics, obstetrics, gynecology, and orthopedic procedures utilizing Davinci XI surgical system. Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is mandatory. The role includes cross-facility float coverage within skillset within a 60-mile radius, and call responsibilities include 1-2 nights per week with a 30-minute response time. Orientation will last 8 hours with unbillable hours; set hours are guaranteed during the assignment except during holidays when the unit may be closed. The assignment begins on 09/28/2026 and ends on 12/26/2026, with a contract length of 13 weeks.
