Job Summary:
Pediatric Psychology is seeking a qualified Adolescent Registered Nurse (RN) for a night shift position in a mental health unit specializing in adolescent care. The role involves providing patient care to a diverse age group of children and adolescents with behavioral health challenges, including trauma, abuse victims, and patients with self-harming behaviors. The RN will support a high-acuity environment that demands strong de-escalation skills, milieu management, and the ability to work independently within a supportive team.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week, starting 09/28/2026 and ending 12/26/2026.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) training obtained on site; at least 6 months of relevant experience; valid nursing license; experience with de-escalation, milieu management, IM (intramuscular) medication administration, asthma management (medically cleared), and handling multiple escalated patients simultaneously.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with adolescent patient populations, familiarity with electronic medical records, and prior experience in high-stress, high-acuity settings.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required, allowing flexibility to work across different units and patient populations.
  • Additional Information: The unit manages a diverse age range, with patients typically aged 4-12 years, including those with aggressive or impulsive behaviors, self-harm, and trauma-related issues. The role involves managing physical holds, seclusion, and restraints as needed, with a focus on safety and compassionate care. Orientation will include facility and unit-specific training over three 12-hour shifts. The unit culture is high stress and high acuity, emphasizing resilience and professionalism.
