Registered Nurse / Pediatric Psychology

Job Summary:
Pediatric Psychology (PEDS PSYCH) - for a facility located in an adolescent behavioral health unit. This position involves providing mental health care to patients aged 14-18 with conditions such as suicidal ideation, self-injurious behaviors, bipolar disorder, and psychosis. The role requires ability to handle high acuity situations, including de-escalation, physical holds, and use of restraints if necessary, within a fast-paced clinical environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Valid license and national certification including BLS (Basic Life Support) and CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) obtained on site.
  • Skills in de-escalation, patience, compassion, and handling physical holds, with experience in IM injections.
  • Experience in recognizing increased agitation proactively and managing multiple escalated patients simultaneously.
  • Ability to float across the facility to serve various age groups and units, with flexibility in scheduling and shift assignments.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Additional mental health certifications or relevant experience working with adolescent psychiatric patients.
  • Prior experience in high-stress behavioral health settings.
• Additional Information:
  • Orientation includes 3 twelve-hour shifts of unit-specific training.
  • Weekend rotations occur every third week.
  • No on-call responsibilities.
  • RTO approvals allow five days.
  • Uniform color is galaxy blue.
  • Parking is free.
