Registered Nurse / Post Partum Floor

Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Postpartum Floor (PP) registered nurse position located in an acute care facility. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to obstetric patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum stages, supporting maternal and neonatal health, and performing related clinical duties.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per day, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications:
    • 1-year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience
    • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
    • License, Certification, Registration:
      • Registered Nurse License (in the state where care is provided)
      • Basic Life Support (BLS)
      • Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (ANRP)
    • Demonstrated ability to perform electronic fetal monitoring
    • Demonstrated IV skills and ability to perform lab draws
    • Demonstrated knowledge of high-risk medication administration (Magnesium, Oxytocin, Insulin)
    • Demonstrated ability to perform urine point of care testing
    • Demonstrated knowledge of capillary blood glucose testing
    • Demonstrated knowledge of IStat point-of-care testing device
    • Demonstrated ability to perform adult cardiac monitoring
    • Demonstrated knowledge of newborn monitors, including pulse oximetry and cardiac monitoring
    • Demonstrated ability to perform heel sticks and venipuncture on newborns
    • Demonstrated knowledge of newborn medication administration, including IV maintenance and administration
    • Demonstrated knowledge of Bili-blankets/lights and radiant warmers
    • Demonstrated knowledge to support gynecological teaching and postpartum bladder training
    • Demonstrated knowledge to support maternal-newborn teaching
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Bachelors degree in nursing or related field
    • Minimum three (3) years of labor and delivery experience
    • Minimum three (3) years of postpartum experience
    • Minimum one (1) year of medical/surgical nursing experience

Additional Information:
This position involves providing comprehensive maternal and neonatal care, including monitoring fetal and newborn status, medication administration, patient teaching, and supporting post-operative recovery. The assignment is scheduled to start on 12/15/2026 and end on 03/13/2027, with a flexible schedule primarily during daytime hours.
