Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse position is available in a small hospital setting. The role involves caring for ICU patients with a focus on general critical care, including patients with diagnoses such as sepsis, DKA, respiratory illnesses, and post-surgical conditions. The position requires a nurse with at least two years of experience in an ICU environment and the ability to manage titratable IV drips. Shifts are scheduled for 12 hours from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum commitment of 36 hours per week, and the assignment duration is from 09/28/2026 to 12/28/2026.
Job Details
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: BLS and ACLS certifications; a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience; valid nursing license; ability to interpret telemetry strips; experience managing common ICU drips.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a small hospital ICU setting; ability to read and interpret telemetry strips independently.
- Float: Float rotation may be required to Med Surg or Emergency Room units.
- The unit is a blend of ICU, stepdown, and med-surg overflow patients in a small hospital environment. Nurses must be comfortable with diverse patient populations and cultures.
- Nurses are expected to handle patient care responsibilities including titration of IV drips and interpreting telemetry.
- Orientation includes 2-3 days on the unit, with additional orientation provided for float assignments.
- Support staff includes hospitalist-led medical teams, RT staff 24/7, and CNAs, with designated charge nurse responsibilities during evening and night shifts.
- COVID-19 protocols and safety procedures are in place, and scrubs are navy specifically for the unit.
- The facility operates with Meditech charting system and requires submission of a nursing license.
