Registered Nurse / Post Partum Floor

Job Summary:
Postpartum Floor Registered Nurse position available in a healthcare facility. This role involves providing comprehensive maternal and newborn care in a fast-paced environment, supporting gyn teaching, post-operative bladder training, and maternal-newborn education. The position requires compassionate and skilled nursing professionals dedicated to supporting mothers and infants through the postpartum period.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per day, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications:
- 1-year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience in a related role
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Registered Nurse License (in the state where care is provided)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Demonstrated ability to perform electronic fetal monitoring, IV skills, and lab draws
- Knowledge of high-risk medication administration including Magnesium, Oxytocin, Insulin
- Ability to perform Urine Point of Care testing and capillary blood glucose testing
- Knowledge of IStat and adult cardiac monitoring
- Familiarity with newborn monitors including pulse oximetry and cardiac monitoring
- Skilled in heel sticks and venipuncture on newborns
- Knowledge of newborn medications including IV administration and maintenance
- Experience with Bili-blankets/lights and radiant warmers
- Ability to support gyn teaching & post-operative bladder training
- Ability to support maternal-newborn teaching
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in nursing or related field
- Minimum three (3) years of labor and delivery experience
- Minimum three (3) years of postpartum experience
- Minimum one (1) year of medical/surgical nursing experience
