Registered Nurse / Post Partum Floor

Job Summary:
Postpartum Floor Registered Nurse position available in a healthcare facility. This role involves providing comprehensive maternal and newborn care in a fast-paced environment, supporting gyn teaching, post-operative bladder training, and maternal-newborn education. The position requires compassionate and skilled nursing professionals dedicated to supporting mothers and infants through the postpartum period.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per day, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications:
    • 1-year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience in a related role
    • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
    • Registered Nurse License (in the state where care is provided)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
    • Demonstrated ability to perform electronic fetal monitoring, IV skills, and lab draws
    • Knowledge of high-risk medication administration including Magnesium, Oxytocin, Insulin
    • Ability to perform Urine Point of Care testing and capillary blood glucose testing
    • Knowledge of IStat and adult cardiac monitoring
    • Familiarity with newborn monitors including pulse oximetry and cardiac monitoring
    • Skilled in heel sticks and venipuncture on newborns
    • Knowledge of newborn medications including IV administration and maintenance
    • Experience with Bili-blankets/lights and radiant warmers
    • Ability to support gyn teaching & post-operative bladder training
    • Ability to support maternal-newborn teaching
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Bachelors degree in nursing or related field
    • Minimum three (3) years of labor and delivery experience
    • Minimum three (3) years of postpartum experience
    • Minimum one (1) year of medical/surgical nursing experience
  • Additional Information:

    • Candidates must have ACLS certification
    • Positions available for an upcoming winter plan
