Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Floor

Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor Registered Nurse (RN) Chattanooga, Tennessee. This role entails providing high-quality patient care on a 30-bed medical-surgical unit within a general hospital setting. The position involves working a daytime schedule with 12-hour shifts, contributing to an environment focused on teamwork, compassion, and clinical excellence.

Job Details

• Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, teamwork, compassion, collaboration, and communication skills, medical-surgical nursing experience including respiratory diseases, renal conditions, gastrointestinal illnesses, tele, central venous catheters, indwelling catheters, heparin gtts, and associated procedures
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ventilator management, renal dialysis, and prior involvement in a fast-paced medical-surgical unit is advantageous
• Float: Float rotation may be required
• Additional Information:
  • Unit specific policies and guidelines will be provided
  • The unit utilizes Meditech documentation system
  • Staffing includes clinical coordinators, unit secretaries, patient care technicians, and case management staff
  • Routine procedures include patient assessments, line management, and administering medications as per protocols
  • Certifications required include Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Dress code: Navy Blue Scrubs
  • The unit values advanced equipment such as IV pumps and walkers and promotes a collaborative environment with a focus on patient experience and safety
