Job Summary:
The Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician operates in a healthcare setting, providing specialized support in the operating room environment. This role involves assisting surgical teams by preparing instruments, maintaining sterile techniques, and ensuring all procedures are conducted smoothly and efficiently. The position requires adherence to safety and procedural standards to promote optimal patient care.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent; graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent military surgical technologist program; American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; 1 year of surgical technologist experience in an acute care operating room.
• Preferred Qualifications: 1 year surgical technologist experience in an acute care operating room.
• Additional Information: Responsible for ensuring the accurate assembly and completion of case carts according to preference cards, recognizing and interpreting preference cards for instrumentation procurement, coordinating with operating room staff and sterile processing, and managing supplies and instrumentation needs. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work in a busy and stressful environment, possess strong interpersonal skills, and maintain professionalism at all times. The role may require working beyond standard hours, including weekends and on-call shifts, with the possibility of working overtime as needed.
