Registered Nurse / Post Anesthesia Care Unit

Job Summary:
Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located at a healthcare facility and involves providing specialized nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia post-surgery. The role emphasizes patient safety, quality improvement, effective communication, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, License, and Experience: Current New Hampshire RN license required; BLS and ACLS certifications required; up to 16 hours of orientation are unpaid; 0 years minimum experience preferred but not required
  • Preferred Qualifications: Critical care experience (3 years preferred); Neurovascular procedures experience; Ability to safely administer procedural sedation and demonstrate contraindications and reversal for IV adenosine infusion; Pass annual sedation examination
  • Additional Information: Assist with insertion of Flow wire, Opsens, and IVUS; support DNV survey readiness; manage ETO per policy; ensure compliance with policy regarding overtime; participate in peer review and unit-based quality initiatives; collaborate across departments to resolve conflicts and improve patient safety; work within the principles of shared governance and organizational philosophy; help in planning, supervising, and instructing team members, including nursing students and instructors; provide documentation and clinical care consistent with standards and policies.
