Job Summary
Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in a healthcare facility`s telemetry unit. The role involves providing specialized nursing care for patients with cardiac conditions and monitoring using telemetry systems. The position includes working 12-hour night shifts and requires adaptability to float across different units within the medical-surgical and telemetry departments.
Job Details
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, with shifts occurring every other weekend and variable holiday coverage. Minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification, and a minimum of 2 years of experience in telemetry or stepdown nursing.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with GE monitors, reading telemetry strips independently, and performing titrations of drips such as insulin, heparin, amiodarone, and cardizem.
- Responsibilities: Monitoring cardiac patients, performing patient assessments, titrating medications, reading telemetry strips, and providing comprehensive nursing care.
- Shift & Scheduling: Nights, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours weekly. Shift hours are from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM.
- Additional Information: This is a float pool position, providing coverage in medical-surgical and telemetry units. Training includes a one-day unit-specific orientation. Up to four shifts may be canceled per 13-week assignment. Candidates must have valid licenses, and charting is completed in the Cerner system.
