Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Floor

Job Summary:
The registered nurse (RN) specializing in Orthopedic, Neurology, and Trauma Care is sought for a healthcare facility in Evansville, Indiana. This position involves providing high-quality patient care within a 44-bed unit, primarily during day shifts. The RN will support patients with trauma, orthopedic, and neurological needs, ensuring safety and comfort while adhering to clinical standards.

Job Details:

• Shift: 12-hour days, from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM.
• Schedule: 36 hours guaranteed weekly, with a potential for 48 hours upon request.
• Start Date: 09/07/2026.
• Contract Length: 13 or 20 weeks.
• Location: The assignment is at a medical-surgical unit featuring a patient ratio of approximately 1:3-5 during days.
• Certifications Required: Current active compact license, American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
• Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, with at least one full year in orthopedic, neurological, or trauma care, including trauma Level II experience. Recent Epic charting experience is required, and proficiency with tele/12-lead EKG interpretation (step-down experience preferred).
• Preferred Experience: Chest tube and indwelling drain management, drips (heparin, Lasix, Protonix), epidural management, PEGs/NGs, Buck`s traction, pin site care, On-Q management, CIWA/BH, wound care (packing, wound vacs). Must demonstrate strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Float Requirements: Limited, within skillset, with float to nearby campuses or within the same campus during mid-shift.
• Holiday and Weekend Rotation: Every other holiday and three weekends out of every six-week schedule.
• Interview Days: Monday through Friday via MSP interviews.
