Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nurse (L&D) in a hospital setting. This position involves providing specialized care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods in a busy healthcare environment. The role requires hands-on clinical skills and the ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the safety and well-being of patients and infants.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 48 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid certifications including Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Basic Life Support (BLS), STABLE, and Association of Women`s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) fetal monitoring. Candidates must have 1-2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery and meet all onboarding requirements such as Iowa State Background Checks, mandatory reporter certification (Child and Adult), drug screening (10-panel including opiates), and titers within the last 12 months (MMR, Hep B, Varicella, TB).
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience caring for post-operative female patients and familiarity with GE Centricity fetal monitoring equipment is advantageous.
- Additional Information: This position involves caring for adult and infant populations in a Level 4 Trauma unit. Candidates may be asked to care for female post-operative patients and should be flexible to start on Mondays or Tuesdays. The unit has 6 beds with a patient ratio of 1:3. Experience with Meditech electronic health records is required. The assignment duration is from 09/28/2026 to 12/28/2026, with shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM, and may require float rotation as needed.
