Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) registered nurse position in a general medical-surgical setting. This role involves providing high-quality patient care to a diverse patient population, with an emphasis on dysrhythmia recognition and critical drip management. The position is based at a healthcare organization seeking an experienced RN to work night shifts, supporting a team of dedicated staff for a duration of approximately three months.
Job Details:
- Shift: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Active compact licensure, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), at least 2 years of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience in a hospital setting, and strong dysrhythmia recognition skills with critical drip experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior cardiac catheterization and pacemaker patient care experience, as well as previous HCA (Hospital Corporation of America) experience, are highly desirable.
- Responsibilities: Providing patient assessments, monitoring cardiac rhythms, administering and titrating drips, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per day, with a minimum commitment of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: The unit has 20 beds with a staff of 5 registered nurses and 2 licensed practical nurses, utilizing GE cardiac monitors and Hospira IV pumps. EMR (Electronic Medical Record) system is Expanse. The unit operates with a team-oriented mindset, emphasizing confident communication, self-direction, and positivity. Eligible staff may be rotated for floating to Med Surg or ICU units and Emergency Department holds.
