Registered Nurse / Intensive Care Unit Medical

Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Medical Nurse located in the Mountainview area of Las Vegas, Nevada. This role involves providing specialized critical care to patients within a 47-bed ICU unit, including Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), Cardiovascular Thoracic (CVT), and Neuroscience beds. The nurse will be responsible for managing ventilators, performing procedures such as intubations and line placements, and titrating vasoactive drips, all while adhering to unit protocols and maintaining high standards of patient care.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Successful completion of critical care course, current Nevada license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), experience with vents, proficiency in EKGs, familiarity with vasopressor titration.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Two years of previous ICU experience, flexible, able to work under stress.
  • Additional Information: The unit cares for patients requiring intensive monitoring and procedures such as thoracentesis, paracentesis, and bronchoscopy. It is important for candidates to have high energy, excellent time management, flexibility, and reliability. The unit is a floating area, including IMC and ED, to care for ICU and IMC holds. The dress code is royal blue scrubs, with no hoods. Staffing ratio is usually 2:1 for RN staff. The role involves working every other weekend and occasional on-call duties.
