Operating Room Tech / Operating Room Open Heart

Job Summary
The operating room (OR) Surgical Technologist specializing in open heart procedures is needed at a healthcare facility in a day shift setting. This role involves scrubbing on cardiovascular surgeries, with flexibility to cover various cases such as orthopedic, neuro, and general surgeries. The successful candidate will support the surgical team in a fast-paced environment, adhering to hospital protocols and maintaining patient safety standards.

Job Details

• Shift Time: Day shifts, approximately 10 hours, with start times around 7:00 am, 9:30 am, 11:00 am, or 1:00 pm, based on operational needs
• Schedule: 10 hours per day, 40 hours per week minimum
• Required Qualifications: Associates Degree from Surgical Tech Program; 2 years of formal in-hospital surgical experience; Certification from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA); Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous travel experience is advantageous but not required; flexibility to float as needed within a 30-mile radius of the original assignment location
• Additional Information: Orientation is held on Mondays, totaling 16 hours of unbillable time; acceptance of Covid medical and religious exemptions; time-off requests should be kept to a minimum and require prior approval; holidays off are limited to one of the three major holidays at the discretion of the healthcare provider; the role may include mandatory overtime and occasional floating within the assigned radius.
