Registered Nurse / Intermediate Care Unit

Job Description

Job Summary:
Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position located at a healthcare facility. The role involves providing specialized patient care within a mixed acuity unit that includes medical-surgical, telemetry, cardiac, neuro, and stroke patients. Candidates must have prior travel experience, be adaptable to unit needs, and participate in orientation sessions held every other Monday.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, working a minimum of 48 hours per week, starting on 10/05/2026 with an expected end date of 02/20/2027.
  • Required Qualifications: Active VA or Compact License, at least 2 years of relevant experience including prior travel experience, and completion of skills checklist.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Charge nurse experience and familiarity with Cerner electronic health record system.
  • Additional Information: Travelers are expected to work at least one major holiday (Christmas Day and/or New Year`s Day). Orientation occurs every other Monday, with limited options for time off during the assignment. The unit may cancel shifts up to 36 hours in advance based on census. A charge nurse role may be required, with pay differential and training provided. The assignment offers the possibility of up to 20 weeks duration with limited RTO options. Candidates should be prepared to support a teaching environment with students and new hires.
