Job Summary:
Step Down Unit in an acute care setting located in an unspecified location. This role involves working in a unit that manages patients post-cardiac procedures such as coronary artery bypass grafts (CABGs), valve surgeries, TAVRs, heart ablations, and heart catheterizations. The position requires adapting to float responsibilities to other units like telemetry and medical-surgical units, with a focus on cardiac patient care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid license to submit, ACLS (American Heart Association), BLS (American Heart Association), NIHSS certifications, and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Not specified.
- Float: Float rotation may be required to telemetry and medical-surgical units.
- Additional Information: The unit staff ratio is typically 1:4 for PCU/Stepdown patients and 1:5 for Medical/Surgical patients, with a significant focus on cardiac care. Experience in cardiac procedures and familiarity with Alaris IV pumps and Phillips monitors are required. The unit operates on a biweekly schedule, with shifts starting on October 5, 2026, and ending on January 4, 2027. The assignment includes mandatory participation in every other week, up to 2 additional mandatory shifts per 6-week period, and some holiday shifts.
