Registered Nurse / Labor And Delivery Department

Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) Seasonal Contract located in a high-volume maternity unit on the 4th floor of the organization. This 13-week assignment involves rotating shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM with no call requirements and alternating weekends. The role requires providing skilled labor and delivery nursing care in a busy, specialized unit.

Job Details:

• Location: 4th Floor, North Austin Medical Center
• Discipline: Labor and Delivery (L&D)
• Shift: Days, 12 hours shifts, minimum 36 hours per week
• Start Date: 09/28/2026
• End Date: 12/28/2026
• Required Qualifications: Certifications in Atrial Fibrillation Monitoring (EFM), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and SVE competency; 2+ years of nursing experience in labor and delivery; high-volume, Level IV unit experience preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: Internal monitor placement competency; previous employment in similar high-volume units.
• Additional Information:
  Candidates must be team players with a positive attitude and adhere to uniform dress codesolid navy blue scrubs, avoiding T-shirts and sweatshirts in blue, black, or grey. The unit utilizes specialized equipment such as Novii, JADA, fetal pillow, intrauterine pressure catheter (IUPC), fetal scalp electrodes (FSE), toco, and ultrasound. The staffing model includes RNs capable of managing patient ratios of 1:2, with an emphasis on experienced candidates familiar with procedures like SVD, cerclages, C-sections, and TOLAC.
