Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Oncology Floor

Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Oncology Floor in a healthcare facility located in Independence, Missouri. This position involves providing care on a 36-bed unit specializing in medical-surgical and oncology patients, including hospice patients and those requiring cardiac monitoring. The role supports a team-oriented environment with a focus on patient-centered care and requires adherence to unit policies and procedures.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift with 12-hour shift hours, minimum 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); no prior experience or specific education requirements specified; open to candidates with 0 years of experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in medical-surgical or oncology settings is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Float: Float rotation may be required across Med-Surg and Telemetry units.
• Additional Information: The unit utilizes various equipment including I-med, I-mobile, Neurons (vitals machine), glucometers, PCA, wound vacs, chest tubes, and surgical drains. Documentation is maintained in Meditech. Staffing includes clinical care coordinators, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, patient care technicians, and unit secretaries. The unit requires personnel to work every other weekend and follow a dress code of gray nurses pewter or Caribbean Blue PCT uniforms. The position does not involve call responsibilities during the third weekend.
