Registered Nurse / Labor And Delivery Department

Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery RN at a healthcare facility located in Wilson, NC. This role involves providing specialized obstetric and gynecological care on the 2nd floor, including labor, delivery, postpartum, and gynecological services. The position requires a team-oriented professional capable of managing patients in a fast-paced environment with a focus on safety and quality patient care.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: RN (Registered Nurse) license, 2 years of Labor and Delivery (L/D) experience, BLS certification, fetal monitoring class within 2 years, NRP certification, ACLS certification, location within 60 miles of Wilson, NC
• Preferred Qualifications: Circulating in the Operating Room (OR) for L/D surgeries
• Float: L/D float rotation may be required to sit or perform tasks during low census, postpartum float rotation for low census
• Additional Information:
  • Unit has 6 beds plus 1 triage and recovery room in L/D, with an operating room for cesarean sections.
  • Patient ratios follow standards set by the Association of Women`s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN), with a maximum of 6:1 for postpartum and typically 3-4:1 for labor patients.
  • Equipment used includes GE Centricity and Meditech electronic health record systems.
  • The role is a replacement position, and hospital-supplied scrubs are required in the Labor and Delivery area.
