Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Floor

Job Description

Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor Registered Nurse (RN) working nights at a community hospital. This role involves providing patient care on a 27-bed Medical Surgical - Telemetry unit, with a focus on general surgeries, procedures, and patient monitoring. The position offers an opportunity to work in a cohesive environment with a variety of procedures and equipment, with orientation and support provided.

Job Details:

  • Location: 2 West, Main Building, 2nd Floor
  • Shift Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ALS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS). Education requirements include relevant nursing degree, along with a minimum of 0 years of experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with general surgery procedures such as Echo, EKG, Colonoscopy, TEE, EEG, wound vac; familiarity with Meditech electronic medical record system; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Responsibilities: Deliver comprehensive patient care, monitor patient conditions, utilize vital sign machines and glucometers, collaborate with multidisciplinary team, participate in orientation and precepting.
  • Additional Information: Candidates must be able to perform call, and candidates without the listed skills will not be considered for this role. Opportunities for block scheduling, precepting, and working with students are available.
