Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Floor

Job Description

Job Summary:
Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) position on a hospital unit in a healthcare facility. This role involves providing care to adult patients with various medical and surgical conditions, including post-operative and complex diagnoses such as sepsis, pneumonia, and heart failure. The position requires collaboration with healthcare team members to deliver quality patient care during night shifts.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid BLS certification (ACLS preferred), two years of related nursing experience, valid licensure to practice as an RN, and eligibility to work in the designated location.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with postoperative care, trauma, or ICU settings; knowledge of GE monitors and Baxter IV pumps.
  • Float: May float as sitter to Senior Behavioral Health Unit or to ICU if neededrarely required.
  • Additional Information: The unit has 32 beds, with patient census typically ranging from 10-20 patients. Nurse-to-patient ratio is approximately 4-6 patients per RN. Equipment used includes Baxter IV pumps and GE monitors. EHR system utilized is Meditech. The unit cares for geriatrics and adult patients, with a focus on adult populations only. Candidates should be flexible and demonstrate good teamwork. The dress code requires navy blue, royal blue, Caribbean blue, black, or gray scrubs; undershirts must be black, white, or gray; jackets must be scrub jackets; and unacceptable attire includes hoodies, sweatshirts, or fleece.
