Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN) Norfolk, VA. This role involves providing specialized care to a diverse patient population ranging from infants to adults with complex medical conditions, including neurosurgery, respiratory, and cardiac diagnoses. The position offers rotating 12-hour shifts with every other weekend and holiday coverage, supporting high-acuity care in a dynamic hospital environment.

- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, active certifications, 3 years of experience, at least 2 travel assignments, and current flu vaccination (seasonal requirement).
- Additional Clinical Responsibilities: Skilled in post-neurosurgery care, pulmonary management (including ventilators and breathing treatments), cardiac procedures (including ECMO, CRRT, line placements, and medication titration), and management of critical patients with complex needs.
- Use of Ancillary Staff: Yes, CNA support
- Float Support Areas: NICU and General Care Floor (Pediatric)
- Patient Population: Infants, pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients
- Typical Diagnoses/Treatments Include: Respiratory, neuro, and cardiac conditions with procedures such as chest tube care, airway management, blood product administration, cardioversion, and sedation.
