Registered Nurse / Operating Room

Job Summary
Operating Room Nurse, Operating Room Specialty, located in West Virginia. This position involves providing specialized perioperative care for a diverse range of surgical procedures, including general, ENT, eye, orthopedic, neuro spine, trauma, vascular, and pediatric cases. The role requires delivering safe, efficient patient care in a fast-paced, 12-hour shift environment.

Job Details

• Certifications, Education, and Experience: RN license with BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and 2-3 years of experience in the specialty; must have completed 2-3 previous travel assignments and possess orthopedic experience. Must have experience passing arms in and out for robotics.
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, primarily day/evening, with scheduled on-call rotations including one weeknight on-call from 7 pm to 7 am and one weekend 24-hour on-call per month. Shifts may include varied start times such as 7 am3:30 pm, 11 am7 pm, and 3 pm11 pm; minimum 36 hours per week.
• Responsibilities: Circulating cases in the operating room, scrubbing for surgical procedures, managing emergent cases, and rotating through charge nurse and house supervisor roles as needed. Floating to outpatient surgery may be required.
• Additional Information: Scrubs are provided; orientation includes 3 shifts over 1 week; unit staff predominantly includes travelers. The role demands flexibility with shift scheduling and on-call commitments, with a response time of 30 minutes for on-call.
• Submission Requirements: Willing to wait for license activation and able to submit licenses.
