Registered Nurse / Intensive Care Unit Medical

Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit Medical (ICU MEDICAL) opportunity available in a Level III Trauma Center. This critical care position involves providing specialized nursing care for adult patients with complex medical conditions. The assignment includes night shifts, with floating to other Medical/Surgical units as needed, supporting a dynamic and high-acuity environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, with rotating day positions available (7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a) when scheduled. Night shift does not rotate.
• Required Qualifications: Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license, American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications; 2+ years of adult ICU experience, with at least 2 years of continuous work in one location, preferably in a Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU); telemetry competency required; must be able to read tele strips; float: float rotation may be required for up to 4 or 5 patients.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a Level III Trauma Center, familiarity with electronic medical records (EPIC).
• Additional Information: This position involves caring for adult patients with diagnoses including substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), sepsis, gastrointestinal bleeding, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock. The unit comprises 20 beds, with Attending physicians and Residents present 24 hours per day.
