Job Summary
PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) Nurse Days Shift location unspecified. This position is responsible for providing post-anesthesia recovery care to patients in a hospital setting, ensuring safe and effective patient transitions from anesthesia to recovery. The role requires managing airway, anesthesia recovery, and pain management, with flexibility to float to other healthcare facilities as needed.

Job Details

  • Certifications, Education, and Experience: CA Registered Nurse License, BSN, AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), 5 years of experience including 3 years in PACU, airway management, anesthesia recovery, pain management knowledge, and ability to work in preoperative and extended care units.
  • Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Additional Requirements: Completed references must be in hand at the time of submission.
  • Responsibilities: Managing airway and anesthesia recovery, providing postoperative care, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety. Candidate must be able to float to different UCSF facilities as operationally required.
  • Certifications and Skills: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and skills including arterial line management, IV management, discharge instructions, medication reconciliation, and more.
  • Start Date: 11/17/2026 to 02/16/2027.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience required, including at least 3 years specifically in PACU.
