Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Nurse, working in a healthcare setting in Alaska, provides high-quality nursing care to patients across all age groups from birth to elderly. The role involves serving as a vital member of the nursing staff, utilizing scope of practice to deliver respectful and dignified patient care. The position may include responsibilities such as collaborating with health aides, assisting in ordering medical supplies, and supporting after-hours clinic operations.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 32 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Graduate from an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) school or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) program; must be licensed as an LPN in the State of Alaska in good standing; current CPR certification (BLS); valid license in good standing as a Registered Professional Nurse in Alaska; current BLS certification; successful completion of IV certification course; preferred certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention.
  • Preferred Qualifications: New graduates accepted; one year hospital experience preferred.
  • Additional Information: If the guaranteed hours are 40 per week, the first week will not include guaranteed hours due to orientation starting on a Tuesday. All travelers are required to show proof of completed COVID-19 vaccinations. Position start date is 09/29/2026, and end date is 12/29/2026.
