Operating Room Tech / Operating Room Open Heart

Job Summary:
This is an Operating Room Open Heart (OR OH) position located at a large, teaching hospital. The role involves working in a dynamic surgical environment with a focus on cardiovascular procedures, requiring flexibility across different shifts and operational needs. The candidate must be adaptable to the facility`s scheduling and operational protocols to support complex cardiac surgeries.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Rotating day and evening shifts, with 10 hours per shift and a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Certifications include American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA); at least 2 years of operating room (OR) experience; prior travel experience; large, teaching hospital experience; recent Level 1 trauma experience within the last year; at least 1 year of work experience in relevant setting; CV Technicians must have experience in single scrub capacity in cardiovascular (CT) cases.
• Preferred Qualifications: CNOR certification.
• Additional Information:
  • Floating is not required but call as needed and working weekends are expected.
  • Candidates must work 2 out of 4 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Years Day.
  • All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained.
  • Complete work history information (bed count, electronic medical record (EMR) system, facility type, etc.) must be provided to submit application.
  • This role is scheduled Monday through Sunday with no block schedules.
  • Bi-weekly orientations are held on Mondays.
  • Reliable personal or rental vehicle strongly recommended due to limited public transportation. Vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires during November through April.
