Licensed Practical Nurse / Medical Surgical Rehabilitation Floor

Job Summary:
Nursing (Registered Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse) specializing in Medical Surgical Rehabilitation Floor located in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves providing high-acuity inpatient rehabilitation care to adult patients with complex conditions, supporting their recovery and helping them regain independence. The position requires active involvement in patient safety and collaboration within a team to ensure quality care.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, from 12:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: At least 1 year of nursing experience in skilled nursing or other 24/7 skilled care environments, with a minimum of 13 weeks of EPIC electronic health record experience. Valid CPR/BLS certification required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in medical surgical or inpatient rehabilitation settings related to patient acuity.
• Float: No, currently not required; may be needed to float to a satellite inpatient rehabilitation facility within 20 minutes in the near future.
• Additional Information: The inpatient rehabilitation hospital can encounter high-acuity cases akin to a medical-surgical unit. All nurses are expected to assist Certified Nursing Assistants and respond promptly to patient call lights to ensure safety. Attendance and punctuality policies will be enforced. Staff will have scheduled 30-minute meal breaks, along with two paid 15-minute breaks during each 12-hour shift. Shifts must not be extended past scheduled hours without supervisory approval.
