Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) for a healthcare organization located in Washington, District of Columbia. The position involves providing patient care on an Intermediate Care (IMC) unit, with a focus on stroke assessment using the National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS). The job requires a commitment to delivering competent, compassionate, and efficient care while adhering to all regulatory and licensure requirements.
Job Details:
- Location: Washington, District of Columbia
- Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications:
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the District of Columbia
- BSN degree highly desired
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility
- Med/Surg Telemetry experience 2 years required
- Cerner EHR experience 2 years required
- BLS & ACLS certifications required
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required
- Additional Information:
- Responsible for providing a variety of patient care functions for a diverse patient population
- Performs initial and ongoing assessments, reviews systems, and documents appropriately
- Completes admission assessments within the established time frame
- Demonstrates the ability to interpret patient needs and deliver age-appropriate care across the lifespan
- Ensures compliance with all applicable regulatory and safety standards
