Job Summary:
Pediatric Operating Room (OR) nurse specializing in pediatric surgical services in an acute care hospital setting. This role involves providing comprehensive perioperative care to pediatric patients undergoing various surgical procedures, ensuring safety, efficiency, and adherence to clinical protocols. The position offers an opportunity to work within a dedicated pediatric surgical team in a high-volume, specialized environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 10/19/2026 and ending on 01/18/2027
  • Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); 2 years of experience in operating room pediatrics; experience with charting using EPIC system; flexible to float within scope to meet facility needs; credentialing in pediatric surgical procedures preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with pediatric cardiovascular operating room (Pedi CVOR) and pediatric general surgeries; prior community hospital experience; familiarity with pediatric patient diagnoses and procedures.
  • Additional Information: The selected candidate will work in a specialized children`s acute care hospital with a patient census of approximately 50 daily, covering all surgical pediatric services, including neuro, ortho, plastics, eyes, GU, GI, ENT, dental, and spine. Will assist in sterile procedures, specimen handling, and infection control practices within the surgical environment.
  • Certifications and Licensing: License in the relevant state required at time of submission, with specific requirements for MO or IL licenses depending on residency; flexible for MO or compact licenses if aligned with residence.
  • Floats: Will float within pediatric surgical scope of practice, including to ICU as needed.
  • Additional Requirements: Proficiency in scrubbing and circulating for pediatric surgeries, including trauma, neuro, ortho, and ENT procedures; experience with blood administration and sterile technique.
