Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit Medical (ICU MEDICAL) registered nurse position in a Level III Trauma Center. This role involves working in a 20-bed Medical intensive care unit with floating responsibilities across Medical/Surgical units, providing care to adult patients with complex diagnoses such as substance overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, sepsis, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock. The position requires adaptability to a rotating shift schedule, with clinical responsibilities supporting high-acuity patient care.

Job Details

  • Shift and Schedule: Rotating shifts, including day and night rotations with shifts lasting 12 hours. The minimum weekly work hours are 36.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid Massachusetts RN license, American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification. Two or more years of continuous adult ICU experience, preferably in a Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU); telemetry competency required; at least one year of experience in one location.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with electronic medical records using EPIC platform; stable work history in adult ICU settings.
  • Additional Information: Floating to medical and surgical units is required, typically managing up to five patients during float rotations. The ICU team includes attending physicians and residents present 24 hours/day. The patient population is varied and includes adult patients with complex medical needs requiring vigilant monitoring and advanced nursing skills.
